TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 1 Samuel 17:1-50
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Samuel 17:45 "David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."
The problem was just too big, it's impossible to get through it. Goliath showed up like a monster in the war between the Philistines and Israelites. His voice was threatening. Saul and his armies were afraid of him. Yet, David was very brave to come forward because the Philistines made fun of Israelites, the army of God. Saul saw that David could not fight against him, but David did not take a step back. He did not see how tall and big Goliath was nor listened to his threat. David just looked and listened to God. He put the stone in his sling and threw it. He relied on God for his and Israelites' safety. For his faith, the stone hit Goliath in the forehead. Goliath fell to the ground as God had helped him to kill the giant.
In our daily lives, we tend to act like Saul and his armies when problems hit us. We forget that we are the children of Great God. As a human, there are a lot of hard things to handle about. We cannot overcome problems with our own strength. Thus, we have to stop looking at the wall in front of us. We need to focus on God who will give His hands for us.
The battle between David and Goliath shows that the situation he was facing is a chance to see God's mighty power. Just like David, we have to surrender to God only so that He will work great things in our lives. The more we surrender to God, we will feel His great favor through our entire lives.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, do not focus on our problems, but start to FOCUS ON GOD AND LEARN TO SEE THE POSITIVE SIDE of all things.
