Learn to Honor God's Word Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional January 13, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL John 14:15-26
TODAY'S RHEMA John 14:23 "Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them."
Again Jordan was in an argument with his father. He was so upset that he decided to leave home for a while went to his best friend Rendi for some video game. In the midst of their fun game, suddenly Rendi's father came home without notice. Jordan knew very well that his best friend, Rendi was no far different with him that he had a temperamental father, slightly even worse than him. However, something unusual happened because Rendi's father didn't scold him but only gave him a soft reminder about his homework. Jordan was a little surprised because only last month he witnessed how fierce Rendi's father was. The curious Jordan asked Rendi about it and he said that his relationship with his father was gotten better because he listened well to what his father got to say. Jordan put it into practice what he had learned from Rendi. Whenever his father gave him some advice, he listened without talking back. At some point, he felt that his father was over the limit. He went over to Rendi's home to complain. Rendi tried to be a good friend to him by asking what did his father say and what did he do after it. Irritated Jordan told Rendi that his father asked him to study, tidy up his room and to get some food at the store but because he was too lazy to go, he decided to play game and sleep.
Maybe we know it but still doing it anyway towards God, just like the story above. We listened to a sermon every Sunday but whatever we've heard will be in and out in just a second leaving no trace. We've never do anything God wants us to do.
When you have the desire to know God in a deeper level, you've got to really pay attention to what God had to say. Because it is through His Words, He let us know his heart. Through private devotion with Him, He gives us the wisdom to overcome all things in life. Only when we put a serious effort to listen to Him and to be the doer of the Word, we'll understand Him more of who He is and who we are in Him.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, to build a close relationship with God is impossible if we don't honor His Words.

TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear God, please forgive me if I ever dishonor your Word, If I ever think that my ways are better than yours. Please help me because I want to learn to honor your word even more. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
