TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Mark 9:14-27
TODAY'S RHEMA Mark 9:22b-23 ""But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." "'If you can?'" said Jesus."
In one occasion Jesus and His disciples saw a man who brought his son to Him. The boy was possessed by evil spirit since his childhood. Whenever the evil spirit seized the boy, he was thrown to the ground, his mouth foamed, he gnashed his teeth, and he became rigid. The evil spirit often threw the boy into fire or water to kill him. It happened for years and he looked like a corpse. The disciples had tried to drive the evil spirit out of the boy, but they couldn't. His father was desperate, so he asked Jesus to save his son. But, he didn't have enough faith. Jesus then said that everything is possible for one who believes. Immediately, the boy's father exclaimed that he believed. Jesus answered the boy's father's exclamation and delivered the boy from the evil spirit.
The previous story reminds us that we as His follower, we must pray and believe. No matter what we pray for, whether it's a prayer for guidance, protection, gratitude, request, deliverance, intercession or many other. However, most of the time, we tend to be doubtful with our own prayer. We tend to be doubtful whether or not our prayer will bring any difference hence we pray an ordinary prayer. When we do that, the fact is we are putting a limit to God's glory with the way of our thinking. We pray only for something our minds could imagine. We forget that our God is a great God who does great things beyond measure.
Do not limit God with our incapabilities. Start praying with more confidence. Pray that through the healing of your sickness, you can save a soul. Pray that when you are debt free, you can be a blessing for someone else. Pray that when you have a home, your cell group can grow. God bless you.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God favors bold prayers. Weak prayers will only limit God with our own limitedness.
APPLICATION
Why does God want you to pray boldly?
Have you prayed with a bold prayer? Why?
How can you change your prayer to become a bold prayer?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, teach me to have a bold prayer. I don't want to limit Your glory with my limitedness. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
