TODAY'S RHEMA James 4:8a "Come near to God and he will come near to you."\
In the 1960's, a band named The Kingston Trio launched their own song entitled "Desert Pete". This ballad song tells about a thirsty cowboy who walked in a desert trying to find water pump. Besides the water pump, Desert Pete left a message asking his reader not to drink from the pottery but to use the water in the pottery to pull the water out of the water pump. As the cowboy followed the directions, he got an abundant supply of cold water. If he did not believe the message, he just drank hot water from the pottery which could not quench his thirst.
A proverb said, "You have to be brave enough to say NO to something good so that you can say YES to the BEST". However, most people are being impatient and cannot hold themselves for momentary pleasure which makes them lose greater blessings.
If the cowboy in the story could not hold himself, he won't get a greater blessing. The message written by Pete in the story above is like the message of God for our lives (the Bible). We have to learn the value written in the Bible as our manual instruction book and pray to seek God's direction so we can get the best from God. If we read and obey what the Bible says, we can get to know God closer and receive great blessings. God wants to give us an abundant flow of blessing, but He wants to know our heart. we have to show a right response and wait for a reward which has been prepared for us. We just need to follow God's wave, don't walk against it and we will see his great favor in our lives.
