TODAY'S RHEMA James 4:6 "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.""
God loves humility. However, we as human, often forget to keep our hearts humble. We may see the example from the life of King Saul. As a king, he began his career well. He led his first battle with the guidance of the Lord and brought glory to Him. But, his hearts turned 180 degrees in an instant. One day, God ordered him to kill all the Amalekites, put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys. What Saul did was attacking them but spared Agag, the King of Amalekites and the best sheep and cattle. In addition, he had set up a monument in his own honor. In this case, Saul didn't only disobey the Lord but he stole the glory of God. All of his deviation caused the favor of God left him.
It is different with David. Though we see he often did mistakes, but he had a good heart. Whenever the Lord rebuked him, he always confessed his sin and asked for forgiveness in humility. In his victory or struggles, he never forgot to bring glory to God. David realized that without God, his life was meaningless. This kind of heart attitude that make the favor of God always be with him.
Ego and pride shift our focus to ourselves. They blind our eyes to see His mighty works in our lives. Sooner or later, we will think that all successes we gain is because of our own strength. Remember, when God brings us to reach a peak, all is because of His grace and favor only. Keep our hearts humble and do not let our pride hinder His longing to pour down the greater wave of favor for our lives. In every step we take, let us always remember to bring glory to God's name and His heart is always delighted.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, keep HUMBLE! When we are proud in receiving the favor of God, it is hard for us to MOVE TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
