TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Jeremiah 29:10-14
TODAY'S RHEMA Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Here is an illustration about a cactus. There was a cactus which had grown in the desert for years. It must have grown its root strongly since the early life in order for its trunk to sustain the body against the wilderness of the desert, desert's storm, hot sand and absorb the insufficient water in the dessert and to then keep it in its body. Its trunk became bigger and filled up water. It made the cactus felt unattractive. This cactus regretted its existence. This cactus considered that he was useless creature and God had made a mistake to create him. He always compared himself to another creature, the rice. The life of rice had abundant water and it was continuously watered by the farmer. Its grains were waited by many. For cactus, the purpose of God in creating rice was very clear but it wasn't the case for him. Day after day, his heart became heavier more and more, there's nothing good he could find inside.
One day, there was storm strike out the desert. Nearby the cactus was seen someone was having a hard time because of the storm. He was struggling to keep his camel that was blew by the storm. He tried to tie the rope onto the cactus so that he could keep his camel save. When the storm was finally over, he was relieved that he and his camel were actually saved. He intended to continue on his journey and before that, he slit the cactus to get some water enough to sustain his need until he could arrive in the nearby city.
From what had happened, it left a great pleasure for the cactus. He was touched and he rejoiced because he could finally know that he was useful to someone. God whispered something and tears overflowed. God said: "Today, you have found the calling for your life. You succeed to become strong, firm and ready to live in the calling. My plan is never wrong. Be something that I have planned, then your life will be meaningful. Be ready to fight, My little cactus! My strength will be with you till the finish line!"
These words are also for you. Today, no matter what your condition, be sure about one thing: you are so unique and prepare to do a great work. This work can only be fulfilled by you, no other person because His plan for you is different and very special, nothing compares.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God's plan for each of us is UNIQUE and DIFFERENT. Though it's different, the plan is BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL.
APPLICATION
Do you often compare yourself to other people?
Take an action to stop it by praying, looking for "rhema" from the Word of God, asking the guidance from the leader of cell group and if it's needed, do a counseling. You need to do them so that you can find your potential and start to experience many incredible things in you!
