TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Philippians 4:2-9
TODAY'S RHEMA
Philippians 4:8 "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
A farmer went to his field planted two different seeds. The first seed he sow was taken care well; it was given fertilizer, watered, and was weeded regularly. Whereas the other seed wasn't cared for in any special way. The seed was watered once in a while and wasn't given any fertilizer moreover to be weeded. Time passed and the two seeds grew. The first seed grew to be a strong tree with its strong roots, its leaves were dense and green and started to bore some fruits. Not far from it, was seen a dried tree, short and leaves that were eaten by pests, there were no flower nor fruits seen. That was the second seed planted by the farmer.
The illustration of the two seeds planted by the farmer is like us, human being. Those who have weak foundation on the Word of God, their mind will likely be easier to be filled with negativity. Whereas those with firm foundation on the Word of God their life will not be easily shaken by anything and they will bear good fruit. They will stand firm on the truth they are holding onto, truth in accordance with the Word of God.
Never let negative thinking take us to fall into sin. Never give any gap however small it is for the Devil to work in us. When negativity starting to come into our mind, change them into positivity. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to overtake our mind. Whenever we are about to sin, always remember the work that Jesus has done on the cross in our place. Whenever it fills our mind, there will be different feeling down to our heart for we are reminded of His great work on the cross. Holiness, pure love, and dedication to Jesus Christ, surely those feeling will fill our mind instead.
So does the case with our emotion. When the Devil strike us with bad emotion, don't stay still but fight with pure emotion that comes from God. This will generate a strong conviction in our heart to live in holiness for God that we could fight against every temptation and to live in the light of God.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, renew your mind and heart to overcome bad habit in our life.
