FEBRUARY 5, 2018 KELUARGA ALLAH DAILY DEVOTIONAL DAY 1# Love As New Vision
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Corinthians 13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal."
If we take a look at the world's current situation, people tend to be self-centered. How to be more successful, richer and more respected and the focus of their lives is on themselves and not thinking about people and situations around them. The consequence of this is a cold behavior to others, especially if living in a big city, it may seem like there is no love at all. Nevertheless, as children of God, we should not exhibit the same attitude with the world but we should be more like God instead.
To be more like God, we should understand more what God is like. The bible clearly states that God is love (1 John 4:8). Love is at the core of the law and the prophets. Love is the core of the whole word of God, God's desire and God's purpose. We are not supposed to chase after the successes or greatness of the world but we chase after God's love and that's how God's love becomes apriority in all aspects of our lives.
Love is not just in words only but it should be followed by real action and without actions, love remains pointless. In this case, Jesus had given Himself as a role model. As a result of his loving action whereby He gave Himself as a living sacrifice, we received the gift of amazing grace. We should do everything based on love, as it's not our wealth that counts before God neither is it our status in society, titles or achievements, but love that matters in His sight. Therefore, love should become our motivation, purpose,and vision for life.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, LOVE should become your VISION and PURPOSE in life because GOD SEES HOW GREAT LOVE IS in your personal life.
APPLICATIONS 1. Have you ever put love as the vision and purpose of your life? 2. Is there anything that hinders you from showing love? Mention them. 3. What commitment can you make so love becomes the vision and purpose of your life?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank you for being my role model and teaching me to love You more. Through Your vision, may there be a harvest of souls coming to know You. In Jesus's name,I pray, Amen."
