TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Peter 3:9-18
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
We are so used to hearing the words vision and mission. Offices usually have their vision and mission printed, framed and hung on the wall for everyone to see so as to motivate and drive them to accomplish the vision and mission of the organization. Vision often talks about the main purpose that should be accomplished, while mission often talks about the steps that need to be taken to accomplish the vision.
Do you know as followers of Christ, we also have vision and mission for our lives? If the vision and mission of an organization or an institution come from the thought of men, then our vision and mission as followers of Jesus Christ come from our Lord Himself. Then, what are they? Our vision is clear, "Love God, love people, with passion." The Mission? It should be the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus: to save souls, to disciple and to delegate them for the mission until the Kingdom of God can be established on earth as it is in heaven. Probably many of us are confused as to how to put the vision and mission to work. How can we possibly make all nations become disciples of Jesus if inviting a friend to church is already a difficult thing to do? How can we baptize nations, if inviting our neighbor to join cell group is already hard enough?
If we are committed to doing the Lord's Great Commission, we must ensure our spiritual experience is genuine. Have we really accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior? Have we been baptized, joined a worship and cell group? Have we been discipled? Have we committed ourselves to serving the Lord and are we ready to be sent to fulfill the Lord's Great Commission? If we ourselves have not gone through each of the stages of the Great Commission, then what we do for the Great Commission will hold no water, as we will become talkers but not doers.
Today, start by sharing what God has done in your life with others, it is a form of evangelism. Then tell others about the life changes you've experienced after you've been saved, joined a cell group and worshiped regularly. Lastly, share a testimony of how you receive God's wonderful blessing and grace as you step into ministry. When we have passed all the processes of the Great Commission, then what we say to others will have the power to touch the heart and move the person to take steps in fulfilling the Great Commission.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Before you can COMMIT to accomplish the Great Commission, you need TO GO THROUGH ALL PROCESSES of the Great Commission first.
APPLICATIONS 1. How important is it to accomplish the Great Commission of your Lord Jesus in your life? 2. Have you committed yourself to do the Great Commission of your Lord Jesus? 3. Have those commitments borne some results? What are they?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father in heaven, thank You for trusting me to execute Your Great Commission. Enable me, Lord, to go through the process until I successfully finish all required to do Your very will. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
