TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 116: 1-12
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 116:12 "What shall I return to the LORD for all his goodness to me?"
The love of God is too immeasurable and deep to be understood. When we read the Bible or listen to the stories of God's goodness and His sacrifice on the cross, we can see that He is love. This thought will only become religious knowledge if we don't know Him intimately.
Luke 7:36-47 tells the story of one of the Pharisees who asked Jesus to eat with him. There, Jesus was met by a woman who brought an alabaster flask of ointment. She bathed Jesus' feet with her tears and anointed them with ointment, then she dried them up with her hair. The Pharisee saw this as a shocking behavior for she was a sinner. Then, Jesus explained that woman was expressing loving gratitude in response to the forgiveness of her sins by a parable. A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii and the other fifty. In this parable, the Pharisee represented someone who owed less because they understood the Book of the Law and complied with all religious ceremonies. They knew God is good and "they deserved" to receive mercy and be forgiven. In another case, for that woman, it was impossible for her to receive mercy for her debts. Her heart was very grateful and she wanted to return to God for His goodness, who freed her from the debt because the impossible became possible in her life.
Which of them can we identify ourselves with? Have we experienced how wide, long, high and deep God's love is? When our hearts are immersed in His love, we will surely want to reciprocate the same and please Him. The time we experience God's love and display the same, the beautiful relationship with God takes root. God is not a person who's far but He's close and real in our hearts. At the moment God's love overflows in us, we're able to love God wholeheartedly and share His love with others.
REFLECTION It's not enough to only UNDERSTAND God's love, you have to EXPERIENCE and RECIPROCATEit. These are 3 stages of LIVING IN GOD'S LOVE.
APPLICATIONS 1. What stage is your life now in the love of God? 2. Why do you need to experience and reciprocate His love? 3. In your view, what can you do to share His love?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Beloved Father, thank You for Your great love in my life. Guide me to understand and experience Your love more,then I can reciprocateit as Your will. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
