TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL John 1:1-14
TODAY'S RHEMA John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
The Bible calls believers children of God. A child reflects the influence of his parents. Like the child of a president, everywhere he goes, he receives the best care because of his parents. So does the child of a general or rich man, he can do a lot of things because his parents can support him. If this is the status of the child of a man with power and authority, how much more we, the children of God? He is much more powerful. He created the heaven and earth. Can you imagine how great his influence and power as well as the difference His children can make?
But, the fact is, a lot of Christians live without knowing their status. They seem to be oblivious to know how great the difference they can make in life. We must not let problems bury our identity as His child. Helplessness can cage us, so we become passive Christian and surrender to every condition. We think our freedom and peace will be received in Heaven, not earth.
Whereas, our status as the child of God has been given to us when we believe and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. We don't do anything else to merit it, just believe! This means our life in this world is as important as our life in heaven. Throughout our lifetime, He wants us to show the world the real difference and bring heaven down to everyone's life we encounter be it at home, workplace, on a journey, in our cities or countries, wherever. That's why we need to pray and do the word until God's Kingdom is established on earth.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Joining the family of God is the greatest grace and honor in life.
APPLICATIONS 1. What does it mean to become a part of God's family? 2. How can you become a child of God? What are things you can do as a child of God? 3. How can you present heaven on earth?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, it's only by Your grace that I can become Your children, I can get the great honor to call You Father. I want to take Your presence everywhere and to everyone. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
