TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL John 15:12-17
TODAY'S RHEMA John 15:16 "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
Each of us have our own lifespan. We never know when our time is up, but surely the time will come. It will come, because of age, illness or deadly accident, whatever it may be. When life ends, we will never be able to turn back time. That kind of reality strongly hit Ps. Wilhelmus Latumahina when his first son got into a deadly accident and passed away. The tragedy made him contemplate about the meaning of life. He came into realization that human beings are not permanently young, strong, prosperous, and alive. After contemplating about the meaning of life, he came down into a conclusion poured into a song with a deeply meaningful lyrics "Life is a chance. Life is to serve God. Don't waste God's given time. Life must be a blessing." This song encourages us to contemplate about our life as a believer, as how we should live our life. Life is not about how long we have lived, but how we use our time as long as we live. God has put us in this world because He has His purpose for each of us. If He only wants us to have an eternal life with Him, why must He send us to this world? Why doesn't He place us in heaven?
This is our chance. A chance to express our gratitude for His love through our lives. A chance to be a blessing. A chance to have a fruitful life. Indeed, life is not about satisfying ourselves, it's about how we impact others. Salt must be salty. Light must shine. A tree must bear sweet fruits. If we are willing to do, we will invite heaven into earth. Many people will experience the beauty of God's love. They will experience encounter with God. Use this good chance. Someday, when the time comes and we go back to heaven, God will say "well done, good and faithful servant."
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God's purpose for giving us life's chance in this world is to make people experience heaven's on earth through our life.

TODAY'S PRAYER "Heavenly Father, I thank you for the chance you give for my life. I want to use my time to please You, Lord. I want to be a blessing for others. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
