On one cold morning, little Bobby who had just waken up was crying aloud. Mia, his mother, ran quickly to his room and checked Bobby's condition. She was panic after touching Bobby's forehead since his temperature was high. Mia was confused but there's a voice in her heart said, "Why are you praying? Your son won't get better by praying. And you are nothing but a sinful woman, do you think God will hear your prayer?" She started to be afraid of the future, what's going to happen in the future and so on. She fed her son medicine to reduce his fever but two hours later, what has been feared by Mia actually happened, her son didn't get better but grew worse, his temperature reached to a point where a convulsion happened. His body became stiff, arms and legs began twitching, so he must be taken to an ER right away.
Pressured under the hard situation, we've always had two options, whether we seek for God's help or look for another way in the first hand. Devil will try many ways to trick and destroy us whether by intimidation which makes us afraid and panic so that we take the wrong step as Mia or by his wiles to put off our faith in Jesus so that fear can dominate us.
Devil is an enemy whom we must beware of and face in daily lives. The Bible writes "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Mark 14:38). Therefore, it is important for us to always pray, depend on the Holy Spirit's guidance and put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Believe that as long as we live in holiness, truth, integrity, prayer daily and covered by the blood of Jesus, we must be delivered from sin, temptation, and danger which can destroy our lives. We also get the strength to stand firm in the truth of His Word in order to receive the real freedom that brings us to the successful and fruitful life for the Kingdom of God. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, DEVIL will try all KIND OF WAY to destroy you; they are the ENEMY whom you must BEWARE of and FACE in daily lives. APPLICATIONS 1. In your opinion, who is the enemy that you must beware and face? 2. What are Devil's ways to destroy you? 3. What makes devil easy to destroy you, then what's our anticipation in order to stand firmly and live in the real freedom? TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, I'm thankful for Your Word that gives strength to my spirit. Remind me to pray, ask for the Holy Spirit's guidance and put on the whole armor of God every day. By doing these, I'm able to be aware, stand firm and strong to fight for enemy's attack in order to always live in the real freedom. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
