A small church's choir was invited to minister at a gospel concert in one of the big churches in town. The worship team was very excited when they got the invitation. They were not only to perform in a mega concert but also they will perform alongside local and international gospel artists on one stage. To give the best, the pastor of the church held an audition. Two best friends, Christine and Sandra participated in that audition. But Sandra did not pass. Disappointment and jealousy caused Sandra to start hating Christine. She did all kinds of bad things to bring Christine down with her. Realizing what was going on, Christine started keeping a distance from Sandra. For months after that, they were embroiled in conflicts. They made mountains out of molehills which badly affected their ministry.
At a point, Christine heard a sermon delivered about forgiveness, she was touched and decided to forgive Sandra. Even though Sandra was the one at fault, Christine took the initiative to come to her and resolve the problems. It wasn't easy because Sandra was so disappointed that her heart turned bitter toward Christine and declined the good approach of Christine. Being rejected once didn't make Christine back down and give up, she continued on her mission to resolve the problem with Sandra. Due to her perseverance, Sandra finally opened her heart and both best friends talked about the problem out and their friendship was restored.
As long as we live, we can never avoid conflicts. But we can choose whether we're going to solve or even allow the conflict to go on. Let's check our lives, are we currently in conflict with someone? Maybe with parents, family, best friends, or friends in the ministry? Keeping silent and expecting time to resolve the conflicts is not the right choice. Conflicts only harm us and those around us. Make a commitment to resolve conflicts in your life immediately. Ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit. Maybe at first, it will feel uncomfortable, but, once we succeed in resolving the conflicts, we will experience true freedom in Him. Are there conflicts that you are experiencing right now? How are you handling them? 2. Why do you need a strong commitment to overcome conflicts? 3. How will you deal with your conflicts now? TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, I ask for and receive your forgiveness for postponing or even refusing to resolve the conflicts that I face. I am committed to resolving every conflict I have with others. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen."
