TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Colossians 3:1-10
TODAY'S RHEMA
Colossians 3: 9b-10 "since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."
We know that children, especially under five, really like a balloon. It's usually sold in the playground or the place where children are playing. Balloon usually comes in many colors and shapes to make it attractive. When it's inflated with a gas, usually Helium, it can fly. Without volume, balloon is flat and unmovable, it's not attractive at all for children. After being filled, balloon floats then it flies high if there's no weight on its string. Balloon turns to something that attracts children. After sometimes, at least a week, balloon "needs to be filled with the wind" again so that it keeps the round shape and full in volume.
What happens to a flat balloon also happens to us without the Holy Spirit. We're reluctant to move without encouraging, weak in spirit and unable to fly higher. As the result, we're unattractive to non-believers. Though God had created us with many talents, we can't produce the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23a) without the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit remains in us, we can defeat the mind on the flesh, overcome every hardship, stand against the schemes of the devil, be fervent in spirit in serving God and bear the fruit of Spirit as written in the Word of God.
Saudara Terkasih, oftentimes, hardship makes us feel empty. It makes us reluctant to pray, bored in spiritual life and helpless. When it happen, we need a spiritual transformation. We have to come and believe in Jesus, as the Scripture has said those who believe in Him will receive the flow of the Holy Spirit. Life transformation comes after we are renewed spiritually. We will fly high and walk from glory to glory, be fruitful and fisher of man for God's Kingdom.
REFLECTION
Spiritual transformation comes before life transformation.

"Lord Jesus, thank You for Your protection for my whole day. You know my needs but above all those things, I need You and Your Spirit. Please renew my heart to always abide in You. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
