TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Mark 11:12-26
TODAY'S RHEMA Mark 11:25 "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."
To forgive, can be the hardest thing for us to do when others mistreat of hurt us badly. To talk about it could be hard, let alone to talk about forgiveness. One day, Peter came to Jesus and asked how many times shall he forgives those trespass against him. Then Jesus answered with a parable.
In the story, there was a servant who owed ten thousand talents to the king (Matthew 18:21-35). The servant could not pay and the king ordered that he and his family and all that he had to be sold to repay the debt. However, the slave begged for mercy of the king, and the king granted his request and freed him from the debt. Then, on his way back home, he met a friend who owed him a hundred denarii. His friend fell to his knees and begged him, but he refused and thrown his friend into jail. When the king heard the case, he called his servant and said, "You wicked servant, I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow-servant just as I had on you?" In his anger, the king handed the slave over to the jailers.
God knows how important for us to forgive. Yet He won't forgive us unless we forgive others. He is not the God that hold a grudge against His children. Instead, He understood that unforgiving spirit will do nothing but hurting ourselves. In addition to the prolonged heartbreak, bitterness can damage our relationship with God. We will lose the capacity to be able to receive His resurrection, which in turn makes us lose the purpose of God in our lives. Thus, if we want to be the person God has addressed, take the decision to forgive those who trespass against us so that our faithful God will forgive all our offenses.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, when you forgive, God will forgive your sins and Do THE IMPOSSIBLE THINGS for you.
APPLICATION
Are you still keeping any bitterness against those who mistreat you in the past?
Why do you need to release the forgiveness for people who sins against you?
What commitment can you take to be able to release the forgiveness?
TODAY'S PRAYER
Father, although this time our heart is hurt, I choose to forgive. I will not stay in my heartbreak or allow it destroy my own lives, even destroy my relationship with You. Lord, please forgive us my sins, for I also forgive everyone who sins against us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
