Lukewarm Christian Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional April 05, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Revelations 3:14-22
TODAY'S RHEMA
Revelations 3:16 "So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
Laodicea was a city famous for its banking system, textiles, and cosmetics. It is said that the city was a wealthy one. When a great earthquake shook the city in 60 AD, they refused a financial help offered by Rome government. They confident of rebuilding their own city without help. Unfortunately, the congregation of Laodicea was blinded by worldly wealth, therefore they can't see the need of Christ in their life. They did their religious obligations, but their life was no different from the worldly life. That is why, the Lord reminded them of something that they did not have, their own water supply found in the Lord. The Lord had said this because Laodicea did not have their water supply like Hierapolis with its hot water fountain or Colossae with its cold water fountain. Laodicea had to elicit water to the city. When the water arrived there, it is not hot or cold anymore, and just lukewarm. It was disappointing, and that is how Laodicea was in the eyes of the Lord.
Probably we are not as rich as the congregation of Laodicea was, but the question is how far can worldly wealth draw our eyes away from God? We tend to let ourselves to chase worldly pleasure and let our love for God fades away. As it happens, usually our ministries become daily activities which bore us, and not long before we become lukewarm Christian.
Today, if the Lord is knocking right in your heart, don't harden your heart. It is not wealth, achievement or other things that can give you life fulfillment but Jesus. Seek Him and He will give you eternal wealth, His white righteous robe and opened eyes to see Him. Acknowledge that He always waits patiently, and you shall find that you need Him in every step of your life.
