TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Isaiah 29:9-16
TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 29:13 " The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship on me is based on merely human rules they have been taught."
At a village in the Philippines, lived a boy named Andoy. Every day, he followed a certain route to school. Andoy usually came by a church to pray. The road he had to take was quite dangerous as people drove their vehicle recklessly and they were speeding. No wonder that the priest in a church nearby accompanied Andoy to cross the road. Every time Priest Agaton greeted him, Andoy smiled and answered: "I just want to say hi to Lord Jesus, my Best Friend." His habit not only touched the heart of the priest but also made him curious. Once, Pastor Agaton hid behind the altar to listen what Andoy would say to God: "God, my Best Friend, my examination score was pretty bad today but I didn't cheat and… You know… it's my fault because I didn't prepare it well. Thank You for giving me peace so that I could remember the previous lesson. By the way, breakfast for today was great, You sent crackers by my neighbor when my father had a bad season. You're always good. Today, I give my heart as an offering to You, my God."
Christmas was approaching. Andoy was in hurry to church because he wanted to give a present for his Best Friend. As usual, he had to cross the dangerous road but suddenly, a fast-moving bus came by and hit Andoy. He died on the spot while holding the present close to his heart. The next couple days, Priest Agaton came to Andoy's home to express his condolence and he was sorry because, on the day of his death, the Priest wasn't around in Church. Andoy's father told him that there was A tall Man in pure white shirt and pants carried Andoy's lifeless body home. His face was mild and gentle but His eyes were full of tears. He also said that Andoy was His best friend. Priest Agaton couldn't bear his tears because he knew that the Man was Lord Jesus. That day, Andoy had taught him about a close relationship with God and how God really appreciated the relationship.
Do you want to have such kind of relationship with God as Andoy's or even closer? Surely you can! God is longing for the same thing. Yes, He's waiting for you. Start to build a close relationship with Him! Because He is your Father in Heaven. Amen.
