TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
1 Chronicles 29:1-9
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Chronicles 29:3 "Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided for this holy temple"
In China, there was a man named Xia Jun. His son Guo Guo who was only two years old was claimed by the doctor that he was suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. As it was a bad news from the beginning, the doctor also added more misery to a statement that his son can only survive for a maximum of two and a half year which meant the child would only live until 4 or 5 years old. As a father who loved his son, the news saddened him so much. He would do anything for his son to recover so that he could bring him back home and play with him. Xia Jun then decided to stand in front of a station, with a piece of poster hanging on his neck with a picture of his son and diagnosis paper from the hospital. Not only that, he wore a T-Shirt that was written "Human punching bag, 10 yuan per punch," which meant he was giving himself to be punched by the passerby and in return to receive 10 yuan (IDR 20.000). His dramatic action to help his son drew the attention of public. He raised a fantastic amount of fund for his son's medical need, which was around 800 thousand Yuan or 1.6 billion rupiah. An amount far more enough than what he needed.
The story above told us about a father who loved his son so much that he was willing to sacrifice himself. He made his body as a punching bag in order to raise medical fund for his son.
The moral lesson we could get from it is when we love someone, we will be willing to sacrifice and give what is the best. If let say, your children are to be sick, I am sure you will do anything for them to get better. If you are still alive until this moment and reading this daily devotional article, it is mere because of the grace of God. Therefore, let us love the Lord and give what is best for Him. If you are taking part in any church ministry, let us give our best to Him. Always be ready if you are required to sacrifice your time and energy for His work.
