Obedience Leads to Great Reward Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional August 23, 2016
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Genesis 22 : 1 – 19
TODAY'S RHEMA Genesis 22:16-17 "I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies..."
There was a parable written in the New Testament about two sons. A father had asked his two sons to work in the vineyard. The first son said yes, but he didn't actually go for it. As for the second son said no, but he was sorry and finally went to work in the vineyard.
The second son who was initially refused to do what his father had asked then actually went for it after sometimes. He probably had his own reasoning to not do according to his father's command of in the first place; whatever it was. However, he finally decided to do what his father wanted him to do. Who knew that he was regretted after refusing to do the thing and then pondered what he'd just done to his father. He eventually realized that he loved his father and had to obey him. He soon decided to leave his comfort place and do his father's order. His love was enough to drive him back. His love towards his father was the reason for him to obey regardless of what he felt.
We may also face the same situation just like the second son did. We have to make a decision to whom we are supposed to obey; God or man, even more, if we are told to do an inappropriate thing which we shouldn't be doing. Please be encouraged to keep our commitment to obey God's order. Let us decide right, never disobey God because our Father in heaven searches for an obedient heart. Trust Him and when you obey God, His great reward awaits ahead.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, those who are putting obedience above self-comfort will receive GREAT REWARD from God.

In what things do you really feel uncomfortable just to obey?

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Lord Jesus, please teach me to obey Your commandment, regardless of the price I have to pay. Teach me to follow Your order and do what is pleasing unto You. I believe that Your blessing is great for me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
