TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Philippians 2:1-11

TODAY'S RHEMA
Philippians 2:8 "And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death- even death on the cross! "

Do you still remember a television program called "Fear Factor"? A program where its contestants were required to do something extreme with extra bravery. The contestant had to go through several rounds to get to the final with some fantastic prizes, therefore the contestants were motivated to get over their own fear and gain the victory. If they gave up halfway (on first round, second round or last round) they would be eliminated and lost the chance to win the big prize. Just imagine, if there were anyone who had decided to give up on the half round or last round, their hard work to the last point would be useless and meaningless. If only they would endure a little bit longer, muster the courage a little bit more, there would always chance for them to be the winner. The decision to stop and give up made them lose the chance to win.

Have you ever thought that your journey to obey God's Word is similar to the previous illustration? Perhaps your condition becomes heavier because you decide to obey God or maybe you fall halfway that you want to give up; nothing changes, everything remains the same or prayers are still unanswered. You think that you have given the best of you to obey God; you have prayed but nothing changes to the significant level in your family; you have served with all of your heart but still you were to be wronged; you have sown a good seed yet you reap nothing. Please keep in mind that you must muster your courage until victory comes. Your decision to obey God's command is the right decision. If you feel like giving up halfway, just remember your hard work all these while will be useless. Therefore, keep doing your best, keep sowing, keep serving faithfully, keep praying and crying to God, keep forgiving, and keep following God's words. Your hard work will be paid in a place called victory.

Saul started everything well, but he was defeated at the end of his life story. Solomon started well, but he ended defeated. Peter fell halfway, but he rose and finished it well to the end. The good start does not define anything. Instead, the good ending is what we call victory since we are obedient to finish the race in doing God's command to the end.
