TODAY'S RHEMA
1 Samuel 15:22b "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."
Andy was an ordinary employee in a big company. He was paid to clean the office and prepare the need of other employees. He had to start his day working before the working hours started and became the last person to get off work. There was also another employee named Andro, working in the financial division. Unlike Andy, Andro oftentimes was reported to work late but always in a hurry to go home when the working hours came to an end.
Andy did all the responsibilities given by his boss to him diligently, he didn't grumble but did all things wholeheartedly. However, it wasn't the case with Andro. He seemed busy when his boss was around but once his boss wasn't around he would rather play around. When his boss gave him certain work, he would gladly say "YES" but in reality, he would take his time in doing the work or maybe he wouldn't do it at all.
One day, the company held an assessment to all of the employees' work performance. Workers with remarkable achievement would receive a reward. Andy was one of the employees who received the award as the Exemplary Employee. Not only that, he was also promoted to a higher position in his company, whereas Andro, he was transferred to the smaller branch office. Apparently, the director of the company had been observing Andy's working performance, his submission to the higher authority, and his diligence in working.
Just like Andy who diligently did all of his works in obedience, so do we. We are supposed to do things like him. We ought to obey the higher authority above us like leaders, parents, teachers and above all of them is God. It's not enough to be seen as good in people eyes but our sincerity and earnestness are far more important. Doing good is not at all wrong but it isn't enough. We need to live in obedience because obedience reflects our attitude of our hearts to anyone and about anything. Obedience is the quality that God is looking for.
Obedience is vital. When we live in obedience, it pleases the heart of God and when we do so, it will draw His wonderful grace and blessing over our lives. Therefore, let us develop the obedient heart wholeheartedly.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, more than only searching good people, God searches for the people having an obedient heart.

Examine ourselves. Have we obeyed or just been good?

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Thank You, God, You remind me not only to be good but also to obey. I am willing to please Your heart, so teach me to have an obedience unto You. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
