TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Philippians 4:2-9
TODAY'S RHEMA Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
God wants you to trust Him every day. The prayer "Our Father" states: "Give us today our daily bread...". It is not 'Give us food sufficient for a week' or 'bread for a month,' or 'food for a year'. It is just for 'today'.
Our devotional reading today shows us three things that we need to do so that we can believe in God every day:
Do not fret about anything. Why don't we need to worry? Because it is not just a bad habit, but worries can create sins in our life. God is a faithful God with His promise and you can believe that He will take care of your life every day.
Pray about Why? Because prayer changes things. Within prayer, faith will rise in our heart. It is a faith that believes God is always in control. He loves us so much so He gave His only begotten Son to die for us and finished our biggest obstacle with sin. If He helps us on this, there is no way He does not help us on other things.
Give thanks regardless of what is happening to us. We do not need to give thanks for bad things happening in our life. But the Lord says we should give thanks in all things. Why? Because even though bad things are happening in our life, we believe that God will surely help, take care, and give away.
Where can we earn a faith that does not fret, surrenders everything to God, and gives thanks in all things? Do we get one when we watch movie in cinema? Absolutely not. Do we get one when we are in front of television? Of course not! We shall find strong faith only when we come to God in prayer, worship and in reading His words. Our faith shall be reignited, our belief strengthened, so we can come out as firm, strong and victorious people. Because who builds his time with God will never live alone because there is Immanuel God who will always accompany and give victory in life.
