God Works in All Things Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional August 18, 2016
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Romans 8:18-30
TODAY'S RHEMA Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Have you ever experienced when God took something out of your life, the one you really love? What did you feel at first? Sooner or later, we could get used to live without the thing. Maybe we can also say that we gain something despite of our lost. We reach to the point where we can actually give thanks to God for all of our disappointments because of His amazing providence, transforming our past suffering into eternal glory.
By taking sample in surrounding area and using his imagination, CH Spurgeon made an illustration when he wrote "Imagine a tiny little plant growing under a bushy tree and its roots spread widely around. The tiny little plant really loved the quietness given by the big bushy tree. But one day, a woodcutter came and cut the big tree. The little tiny plant screamed and cried, "My shelter has gone! The strong wind will blow me off!" "No!" said the flower angel. "Now the sunlight will shine upon you directly. The rain will be pouring to you overwhelmingly. Your unblossomed flower will laugh joyfully because of the warmth of the sunlight and the water."
As the children of God, we ought to believe all things He does for us or anything He permits to happen or anything that He takes from us. It is for our own goodness. If we understand this truth, regardless of what we are currently facing, we will still be able to rejoice. Either a blessing or a temptation, we have an assurance that in all things God works to reveal His beautiful plans in our lives.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, believing heart means that God also works in all things to BRING GOODNESS
