TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Matthew 6:19-24

TODAY'S RHEMA
Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

One time, there was a story about two people who were ready to be born into the world. Before they were born, an Angel came to them and asked, "If you are given a choice, which one do you choose, being a receiver or a giver?" The first person answered laughably, "Of course, I choose to be the receiver! I do not need to work hard. I can relax and all my needs are fulfilled." But the second person replied, " Let me be the giver." Then the Angel said, " All right, I will grant your wishes." No long after that, they were born into the world. After they had grown up, the difference between them appeared clearly. The first person became someone who always asked and he never gave because he was a beggar. He could survive because of the pity of others. While the second person became a rich man who always gave with full of love.

Often times, we think that giving is the same as reducing, losing, detriment and many other negative perceptions. These perceptions appear that when we are giving, there are some of our possessions decreased and we feel lost. Is that true?
To give something, whatever its shape: material, energy, thoughts and affection, we are demanded to have more to be able to give: to be stronger, smarter, more merciful and richer (spiritual or material). Being richer doesn't mean having an abundant wealth, but being thankful if we are entrusted with it. The most important thing in giving is the love and sincerity. It means that when we are giving, we become the person who has more because we have the heart to love more by giving in any shape. The second is when we are giving, we're also receiving. For example: when we're smiling kindly to other, that person will smile to us also. Let us give with love because we will find the wonderful love of God that goes beyond our mind.

REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, the MOTIVATION for giving must be LOVE.

APPLICATION
  1. Have you been the person who is willing to share more with others?
  2. Look around you, is there anyone who needs your care and love and what steps will you do?
TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear God, give me the true heart of giving and let Your love become my basis in giving. Thank You God for Your wisdom today. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
