How does it feel if you have prayed for long years, but God never answers your prayers? For eleven years Martha Tilaar and her husband looks forward to a child. However, four obstetricians said she was sterile. Even so, Martha continued to pray and drink traditional herbs for three and a half years. When she was 41 years old, doctors said she was entering menopause. Martha had collapsed, but not a doctor's verdict or bitter reality that she allowed filling her mind. In fact, she expanded her heart's capacity for God's miracles. She still believes that God will give the best. A year later, Martha gave birth to a child. Moreover, God gave three more children to her.
In today's reading, the widow didn't seem to have hope. Debt collectors had come to take her two children. But she sought God's help. Straight away, Elisha instructed her to prepare as many empty vessels as possible. As many vessels as she could prepare, as many as God's miracles will flow for her. Initially, this widow only had one small jar of oil that wasn't even enough for anything. Now, she has more than enough.
How often in this life, what we have in our grasp is only a small "jar"? The jar speaks of what is in us, whether it's finance, talent, intelligence, skills, or health conditions. However, everything is so limited, so that our hope to achieve something is also limited, even impossible. But remember, nothing could limit God. Clear our heart's vessel of all doubt, fear, bitterness, disappointment, busyness, and worldliness. Provide space in our hearts as spacious as possible so that the seeds of God's word could grow large. In time, from our limitations, God will make something unlimited. Supernatural harvest also occurs. A great harvest that brings our lives to a higher level with Him. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When the SUPERNATURAL HARVEST happened, God IS ABLE TO change the limited to be UNLIMITED. APPLICATIONS 1. What is meant by a supernatural harvest? 2. Why do you need to prepare a vessel to receive the supernatural harvest? 3. What steps will you do to accept the supernatural harvest? TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, I realize that I really do have many limitations in life. However, I give thanks for being unlimited to what You can do. Only in You, we could hope that the supernatural harvest that far exceeds our imagination could occur. Let only the best, in accordance with Your will, and what makes the crowd see You present in our lives just happens. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
