Receive Miracles By Seeing In Faith Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional June 21, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
John 20: 19-29
TODAY'S RHEMA John 20: 29 "Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
In life, we are facing many options to choose. One of them is to live in the Spirit or in the flesh. Do we tend to overcome our problem world's way, by relying on our own ability and wisdom? Or we choose to trust God wholeheartedly? Actually, trusting God and entrusting all of our life to God are two different things.
Based on the story of Thomas in the Bible, when he met Jesus for the first time after the crucifixion, did he believe in God and His miracle? Of course yes because he had witnessed how Jesus did miracles for many years. However, he didn't believe that Jesus was able to rise from the death. Even, he would never believe unless he saw the mark of the nails and placed his finger on it. It was a very contrast with the story of the Centurion's servant in Capernaum who suffered terribly (Matthew 8:5-13). The Centurion's faith was based not only on what he heard or saw but rather on something far beyond physical. He comprehended it much deeper and therefore he was able to access Jesus' miracle for the servant's healing. Besides, the Bible wrote that Jesus marveled with the Centurion's faith.
When we hope for a miracle to happen in our lives, we can't stay living in flesh. Don't rely on either your physical eyes or own understanding and logic for those are limited/due to the limitations. Entrust our lives to God and do not limit His power to perform a miracle. The miracle is the result of the Spirit's manifestation thus we must live in the Spirit more to be able to access it. It is written in Hebrew 11:1 that faith confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. How could we get what we hope for if we can't see it? Only by living in the Spirit, we are able to see with our eyes of faith.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, even though your physical eyes can't see Jesus physically, BY FAITH you can SEE AND RECEIVE HIS MIRACLE. APPLICATION 1. What is the meaning of seeing with the eyes of faith? 2. Why do you need to use the eyes of faith to experience His miracle? 3. How do you activate your spiritual eyes more instead of your physical eyes?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, I realize that Your power is far beyond my thought. I need Your help, Father, so that I can live in the spiritual dimension and see everything with my eyes of faith. Help me to trust You more instead of my physical eyes. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
