TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Romans 11: 16-22
TODAY'S RHEMA Romans 11: 17 "And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,"
In the agriculture world, grafting technique is usually applied. The simple definition of grafting is joining another plant on the main plant in order that the characteristics of the main plant transfer into the attached plant. The main purpose of grafting is to have the plant which has a good quality as the main plant.
The word "grafting" was used by Apostle Paul to portray how God is longing His children to strongly remain in Him, so that we finally have the same characteristics as His. When God's hands took us as "the wild shoot" to be grafted, He didn't care about our condition that time. He knew whoever in whatever condition will be true if it's grafted into the True Vine. Let's see the life of Apostle Paul: he was like "a wild shoot". Before knew about God, he didn't have any characteristics like Jesus at all, and even he became His enemy. It's only by His love and grace, Paul was grafted on the True Vine. As the time was passing by, it wasn't easy for Paul to remain on the Vine where he was grafted. However, the Bible wrote that Paul disciplined himself and did the commitment to strongly remain no matter how the condition was. Finally, he bore the fruit of the Spirit in his life. No matter how the dangerous wave, hard obstacle, pressure and complicated problem, Paul could overcome and be the winner. Day by day, his characteristics were changed to be likeChrist. He dedicated his life to save the lost.
Truly, God had no strong reason why He was willing to take "the wild shoot" as Paul and transformed his life. As what happened to Paul, God has no reason when he took and grafted you into His own. It shows God's initiative and grace. It's not because of your strength or power that's why you should be thankful for what God has done and cherish it by not neglecting such a great grace. Keep remaining in Him. He wants to transform your life. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, before you believe in Christ, you were THE WILD SHOOTS but God took and GRAFTED you in THE TRUE VINE. APPLICATION 1. Do you realize that you had been chosen by God and grafted in Him as the True Vine? 2. How is your way to cherish God's initiative and love for grafting your life in Him? 3. What are the transformations you have experienced since you live in Christ? Write them down!
TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, thank You for adopting and choosing me who wasn't unworthy to be united with You so that my life has the same image as You. It's an amazing grace for me. In the name of Lord Jesus I pray. Amen."
