TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
James 1: 2– 12
TODAY'S RHEMA James 1: 12 "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the LORD has promised to those who love him."
Who's your favorite character in the Bible? Surely many names come into your mind but how if the question is changed: "Who's the character in the Bible who's always praised because of his faith?" Of course, the answer is one, Abraham. There's a reason why Abraham is called the father of all believers. Romans 4:18a wrote, "Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him." We have already known that the time Abraham received the promise of God, it's too impossible to have an offspring for him and his wife were old. The Bible wrote clearly that Abraham's faith was very strong. His faith foundation was the Word of God no matter how the condition. Because of such kind of faith, Abraham stood in trial and received God's promise.
Maybe that some of you are having trials in finance, you want to have a house but you have insufficient money. Do you dare you to declare with faith "Against all hope, I trust God has provided"? Maybe that some others of you are facing trials in health. The doctor has told you about your left period to live. Do you dare you to declare "Against all hope, I trust God has healed me"? It's very easy for us to read the Bible but can we become the doer?
Truly, a faith which comes from hoping on God's promise will be timeless and unshakeable under hardship and trial. By faith, we can trust that God fights for us, our part is to believe His Word. Thus, start to be close to His Word. Read the Bible every day, listen to the audio Bible that has been provided. The Word of God says that faith comes from hearing, does it? When you listen to the Word of God and His promise, the Holy Spirit will strengthen your faith to become strong as Abraham's. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, FAITH which comes from hearing the Word of God IS UNSHAKEABLE under TRIALS. APPLICATION 1. Have you ever experienced a very hard trial in your life? 2. How did you pass the trial? 3. How did the Word of God help you?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, teach me to hold on to Your Word and promise so that my faith grow strongly in You no matter how the situation around me. Thank You, God. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
