TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Mark 5:24-34
TODAY'S RHEMA Mark 5: 27-28 "When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.""
In the Bible, there was a woman suffered from bleeding for 12 years. You may imagine the pain that she had felt for a very long time. How weak she had been. She was not only suffering physically but also mentally. At that time, women suffering from bleeding were considered as impure. One day, Jesus came to the place where she lived. He was in a hurry to heal Jarius' daughter who was dying. As Jesus was walking, He was being surrounded by so many people. The woman was in the middle of the crowd, but she wasn't brave to ask for help to Jesus. As she was impure, she was not supposed to be near the crowd. However, her desire to be healed made her brace herself to approach Jesus and touch His robe as He walked by. As she touched it, the bleeding immediately stopped and she was completely healed.
It was not only her who touched Jesus's robe. There were so many people around Jesus, and it was not possible that they really needed a miracle of His favor. Nonetheless, there was only one person who received a miracle. What did things distinguish them from this woman? We can get the answer from Jesus' saying after the woman confessed what had happened: "Daughter, your faith has healed you." It wasn't the robe that healed, it was her faith that moved her to act. Now, if we desire His miracle, let's draw closer to Him by faith. God doesn't see who we are or how worthy we are. God sees how much we believe in His great love and His desire to grant us a favor. No matter what our problems are: financial matter, sickness, family, or any other matters, as long as we dare to believe in Jesus, the power of His miracle is available for us. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, as long as you DARE TO BELIEVE IN JESUS, GOD'S POWER of MIRACLE IS AVAILABLE for you. APPLICATION 1. What miracles are you expecting now? 2. Do you believe that Jesus is able to help you? Why? 3. What commitment could you take to be braver to believe in Jesus in all conditions?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father in the name of Jesus, I believe that You are the Living God. You are able to give me Your help. Teach me to believe more in You so I am able to experience a miracle. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
