A few years ago, there's a group of scientists gathered to do a research about the performance of the brain. When they analyzed it, with a tool called as SPECT, they found that when someone prays, a part of the brain called as Frontal Lobe Frontal, where the process determined and shaped personality happens, becomes very active. Dr. Joe Dispenza, one of the scientists explained that when Frontal Lobe starts to work, it calms another circuit in the brain and creates a condition where we could feel compassion, joy, peace and good intention.
The research could show us that when God created us, He had already planned that the way to be like Him is to be intimate with Him. Through our intimacy with Him, Holy Spirit will fill us and change our lives from the inside out. The more we build a relationship with Him, the more our personality and character become like Him. Then, we will be more united with Him. We live in Him and He lives in us perfectly becoming one.
For now, maybe there's someone among us who has already been praying constantly, but only minor changes have been seen. One thing we should know, when we pray, we won't immediately be united with God. It needs process. The truth is we were created to be like him. But sins has created a gap between us and Him, so to become one again with Him, we need to fight our flesh. Discipline ourselves to have a habit that wants stick with him again and again. Therefore, every day we will feel more changes in our life. His power will be manifested in our life.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, The process to become one with God won't instantly happen, but needs time, persistence and consistency.
