TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Romans 11:25-36

TODAY'S RHEMA
Romans 11:36 "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen."

Lord Jesus once told His disciples about a parable regarding talents. Talents mean skills or qualifications that are possessed by someone but can also mean treasure or money. This ambiguity exists because in the past, in the Middle Eastern area, where Jesus did His superb ministry, a talent was a measure of the weight of gold. One talent is equal to 34 kilograms of gold, and nowadays in our currency is equal to about eighteen and a half billions Rupiahs.

The parable itself tells a story about three different servants who were delegated by their master to manage their master's treasure that was trusted according to their ability. When their master came home, the servants who received five and two talents happily returned the talents to their master, because they realized that those talents belonged to their master. To see how five talents had multiplied to two to become ten talents, and how two talents also became four talents, their master was glad and gave them compliments. As a reward for their good works, they were trusted bigger responsibility later on. Only the servant who received one talent did nothing because he did not do anything to multiply his talent, and as a result of this ignorance, his master punished him instead of promoting him like the other two servants.

When God blesses us, we have to understand that all those blessings belong to God. But many times we tend to forget and without realizing, we have come to a conclusion that all the wealth we have is, of course, our own, excluding God and His true role as the Owner of all, including our wealth. Sometimes we feel we have worked so hard to earn this money of ours. But, acknowledge all treasures that we have truly come from God, that are trusted to us, and at one time are to be returned to the Master, God Himself. God trusts us as the manager of part of His treasures and we have to work hard on developing them until a level of double multiplication at a minimum. We can not stay idle and hesitate to do our best, just because we receive so little, so we can be ready by the time God asks for our responsibility. God wants us to manage our wealth well and wisely according to the word of God. When we treat our wealth as God's treasures, instead of our personal treasures, we can see His guide, His companion, and His works to be abundant in our works and our finance.

REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, manage the BLESSINGS that God entrusts us wisely for those all are HIS.

  2. Have you managed your wealth wisely?
  3. What commitment will you do to manage your wealth better?
TODAY'S PRAYER
"Thank you Lord Jesus for the talents You have entrusted me. I realize I am only the manager and You are the True Owner of all talents. Teach me to be wise in using my wealth. In the Name of Lord Jesus I pray. Amen."
