TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Galatians 6:2-10
TODAY'S RHEMA
Galatians 6:10 "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
In Philadelphia, by the end of 1800's, a little girl named Hattie May Wiatt was standing with several friends in a church. They were waiting to get into a classroom of Sunday school which was already full and could not receive more person. Fortunately, a pastor named Russell H. Conwell passed by, saw Hattie and then brought her in. That time Hattie felt so glad and she personally hoped that more children could also feel the joy that she already tasted. When Hattie accidentally met the pastor again, he promised her that after the church earned enough money, they would build a bigger room for Sunday school. Not long afterward, Hattie fell sick and died. After the funeral, Hattie's mother came to Pastor Conwell and passed him a small purse containing 57 cents of money. They all found out that Hattie had been saving to help the effort of enlarging the room for Sunday school. Her generosity had created snowball effect amongst the congregation. Starting from that 57 cents, year by year they could collect larger fund to build a bigger church. It did not stop there, the church was also finally able to invent a university and a hospital.
Little Hattie had done what most of us missed. Sometimes we forget that in our effort to strengthen the unity of Christ's body, we have to rise up and be willing to become a blessing to others. We should also remember that our church exists because of many people coming from different backgrounds: family, race, hometown, profession, education, hobby, etc, have agreed to be united within the context of one family of God's kingdom. Now it has become our obligation to preserve this unity so the church remains a warm place for all people. That should be strongly supported if everyone has a preference to act cooperatively within the church and to become a blessing to others. As a Father, our God will be glad if His children all live in a harmony: the strong strengthens and prays for the weak and altogether they build and help each other, this way true and beautiful unity will be maintained effectively.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, one thing that GOD LIKES about us is our willingness to SHARE HIS FAVOR and STRENGTHEN THE UNITY among brethren and sisters in Christ.

"Father, teach me to strengthen the unity within the church. Bless me so I can learn to share any favors that You have trusted me no matter big or small to bless other brothers and sisters in Christ. In Lord Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen."
