TODAY'S RHEMA
Proverbs 27:23-24 "23 Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; 24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations."
A 30 years old man was standing in front of a church, waiting for someone. Seven minutes later, another man in red shirt approached him. They were shaking hands and entered the church together. He was Ricky, an owner of a big grocery store. He was there to counsel and ask for a prayer from the pastor for his financial problem. Though he saw many customers come to his store, but there was no profit for over 5 months. Listening to his story, the pastor kept asking Holy Spirit to give him answer for this man. A wisdom was sent down from Heaven; he asked Ricky how he recorded his finance. "I have recorded all the financial transaction. But I think I missed some things. Every time I need money to pay things, like my daughter's transportation and other spending, I usually took money from it." The pastor could analyze the problem and know the reason. He then explained to Ricky that he didn't include the 'family spending' to the store financial records. He advised him to records all the spending. Six months later, Ricky came back to the pastor and testified his financial freedom.
Some people are not presuming financial records as an important thing. They may have a motto: let my life flows like river. No need to record anything. Just believe God always bless me. However, if we never make good financial records, we will never know where our money are spent to. We have no idea where it goes. We need to know four financial information in managing money biblically. They are the total possession we have, the total debt we have to pay, our monthly salary and our monthly spending. Just if we long to be a responsible servant of God, we shall give these four information to God consistently and accurately. You will become responsible, committed to follow the biblical money management and can be trusted more with bigger blessing.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, our willingness to MAKE A GOOD FINANCIAL RECORDS could make God ENTRUST US THE BIGGER BLESSING.
