TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Malachi 3:6-12

TODAY'S RHEMA
Malachi 3:10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

Here are two stories for us to think about. The first story tells about a mother who loved her son so much. This mother worked as a house maid in a rich family nearby. Before she got off work, her employer would always pack a bag of food for her to share with her son. The first thing she did when she got home was to put aside some portion of food for her son and said, "This is for my son who had worked hard in the field today."

Now the second story tells about the same story and the only different thing is, "what she did with the food." The first thing she did when she got home was to relax as devouring on the food she received from her employer and only when there was leftover food, she would keep them for her son. If for some reason she thought the food wouldn't be enough she would go out to get more food for her son so that he would have enough meal and gladly eat until his stomach full.
Here is the moral message about this story: the amount of food prepared for the son might be the same but there are two different attitude we could see from both mother: The first son received a brand new food prepared with love whereas the second son received a leftover food from his mother. The attitude of the mother in the first story is the best attitude compare to the mother in the second story.

In the same way, returning tithe to is also about our heart attitude and not about the amount given. A heart that truly loves God, submitting in obedience, and making God as priority, that is what matter the most. Therefore, let us give the portion belong to God with the right attitude that God will be pleased. By that, you will see your life blessed by God in many ways.
