TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Romans 4: 17-25
TODAY'S RHEMA
Romans 4:20-21 "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised."
Hal Lindsey, an American evangelist and Christian writer, stated: "Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air but for one second without hope." This quote reveals how important hope in our life. Without hope, we do not have tomorrow to look forward to, we do not have any strong will to go forward and change the unpleasant situation. In short, without having hope, our life will be vain. The problem is, oftentimes we find out that our expectancy is different from reality. It seems an only impossibility in front of us.
Impossibility is the thing that Abraham felt when God promised that he would become the father of a multitude of nations. Humanly speaking, he realized his body was as good as dead and Sarah's womb was barren. He had nothing to hope, but Abraham did not weaken in faith. The only reason for Abraham to believe was God. His faith grew strong and fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised. Because Abraham's faith stood still in the impossibility of reality, God counted his faith as righteousness.
Faith is between expectancy and reality. Whether our faith weaker or stronger depends on where we put our hope on. Do we put it upon reality, self-ability, other people or God? If we rely on our strength and thought, we will lose the best in our life. God does not only know what's the best for us but also create what's nothing to something. It's only in God, we will never lose a hope.
