Throughout life, we will experience various seasons of life. While God promises a great season of harvest, we will also experience what is called the season of drought. When that time comes, we will face unbearable financial challenges and pressures. Maybe we've been praying diligently, but God seems so far away and does not listen to our cry. Long drought also makes our financial coffers empty.
In spite of any challenges we might face or be facing now, let us take a moment and observe the bamboo, such unique kind of plant. As we know, bamboo's height is towering up to the sky. However, as high as the bamboo could grow, we rarely see that plant tumble down even when the tornado strikes. Its' flexible character has transformed bamboo to be stronger than any other tree. In fact, bamboo does not automatically grow that tall. Bamboo first takes root downwards, an underground growth process that takes three to five years. After that period, the bamboo will start towering high, up to 90 cm per day.
That's how God processes our lives. He allows all the difficulties we are currently going through to build the foundations of our character, in order to learn how to manage the blessings God gives and account for what we have. So that when He gives us a breakthrough and elevates us high, we are no longer babes who are easily swayed by the wind of doctrine. Therefore, let us be encouraged. Do not give up, do not despair, and take root on the foundation of God's word. Remember, the Master is always silent during the exam. When God thinks our foundation is strong enough, we will experience Open Heaven.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God uses the hardships to train you, so when He lifts you up that you would be able to stand tall.
