TODAY'S RHEMA Amos 4:7 "I also withheld rain from you, When there were still three months to the harvest. I made it rain on one city, I withheld rain from another city. One part was rained upon, And where it did not rain the part withered."
For ten years, residents of Promise City, Texas, experienced drought, disease, poverty, and business failure. The city was like a cursed city. As a result, the people of Promise Town lived in despair and lost faith. People began to leave town and leave fellowship with God. Until one day, a boy named Gabe was sent to the town to make people aware that there was hope, as long as the townspeople were willing to come to God. Because God can do anything. Long story short, Gabe's presence in the city brought change. As people began to pray and believe, miracle after miracle took place. Finally, Promise Town was restored and became a blessed city. The story above is a scene from a movie titled I'm Gabriel, but there is also the possibility that we could also be experiencing what was experienced by the residents of Promise City in the movie. Perhaps we are experiencing prolonged illnesses. Maybe our finances are falling. Maybe our career or business is failing. Maybe our household is in turmoil. Perhaps our ministry is stagnating or even regressing. Heaven is closed to us, and in the midst of despair, we are almost losing faith.
Just as Gabe was sent to change the City of Promise, thousands of years ago, the heavenly Father also sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to teach us how to live under an open heaven. Jesus taught us how to pray to God, requesting for the earth to be the same as heaven. When we understand how to live under an open heaven, then we will experience restoration in our lives. God will bring about a big difference in our lives, our families, our cities and our ministry. We too will experience what is called heaven on earth.
REFLECTION If you know how to live under an open heaven, God will bring about a big change in your life.
APPLICATIONS 1. In your opinion, what does open heaven mean? 2. Are you living under an open heaven? 3. What will you do to live under an open heaven?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Heavenly Father, I thank you for open heaven. Forgive me if I sometimes forget about it. Help me to keep living under an open heaven. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
