TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 24:6a "Surely you need guidance to wage war,"
"My plan is to go with the flow, just follow the flow of life. God will not lead us wrong," said a young man when his cell group was sharing about financial planning and the future. The concept of "going with the flow" has been around for quite some time. On the surface, this thought looks good, because it teaches us not to get too tense with life situations and to keep us from getting caught in our daily routine. Only that, we can't apply this concept to big things. The Christian life is not a random, aimless life. Also walking in God's guidance is not a series of spontaneous actions or decisions we make from time to time.
Life without planning is like going on a faraway journey without a map, so it is very likely we will get lost. In the Bible, we are also clearly warned of the dangers of living "by the flow." Without careful thought, our life and finances are like putting up a building without planning the budget or going to the battlefield without a strategy. In the end, our building can come to an abrupt stop halfway through, and we can experience great defeat (Luke 14: 28-32).
The Word of God says, "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty." (Proverbs 21: 5). This means we need to make good financial planning. And most importantly, in order for our plan to succeed, we need to ask God for guidance (Proverbs 15:22). Because there is no better Financial Consultant than the Lord Jesus Himself. Ask for wisdom to be able to budget, how much should be invested in the kingdom, how much can we spend on our needs, be saved and invested, also to be sown as a blessing into others. This is the only "flow" we can follow- the principle of life that God sets, so we can enjoy life under Open Heaven.
REFLECTION Ask for GOD'S GUIDANCE in setting up a GOOD FINANCIAL PLANNING, because only A PLAN BLESSED BY GOD will succeed.
