A famous chocolate factory gave out newest chocolate bars to every kindergarten children who visited that factory. Everyone hurriedly unwrapped their chocolate, but Tina stared at it and kept it in her bag. A teacher came up to her and asked if she didn't like chocolate. With a big smile, Tina answered, "I love chocolate, but more than that, I love my parents and they would love to try this new chocolate." The teacher told Tina's parents of her answer. During the weekend, her parents took her to an ice cream stall at the mall. Before this, she could only dream of having their ice cream, as it was very pricey. But now, Tina can finally enjoy her bear shaped chocolate ice cream she had been craving for.
A girl of Tina's age could not have figured out why her parents bought her that ice cream. But we all understood that it was her response that won over their hearts. It is so with our Father in heaven, whose heart is touched when we love Him more than anything in this world.
One thing that we have to understand, is that God is not forcing us to love Him. He knows when we love Him wholeheartedly, and that is when we prioritize His will and obey Him even when it is tough. As we learn to obey him, we will find unceasing love that brings good in all things to us and others. Therefore Abraham's blessings that are also promised to us should also positively impact other people's life.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Your FIRST AND UTMOST RESPONSIBILITY in receiving Abraham's blessing is to LOVE GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
