TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Proverbs 2:1-15

TODAY'S RHEMA
Proverbs 2:4-6 "and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

In 1849, the world paid attention to California. A man named James W. Marshall discovered a gold nugget in the American River while constructing a sawmill. As news spread, thousands of prospective gold miners came to visit the area. They spent about five until eight months to travel there, crossing the land and or the sea. Risks were taken; from the raging storm, sea accidents, until diseases like the typhoid fever and cholera but upon their arrival on the site, they couldn't stop working. Even though the more gold they get, the more dangerous the field to become,

Just like the gold seeker in the story above who did everything to collect as much gold as possible, God wants us to seek for the hidden treasure that He has prepared for us which is called WISDOM. Wisdom obtained as we grow in the rich knowledge of God. It is such a precious jewel; more than gold and silver. Its power shall free us from anguish. But the problem is, how desperate we want it? Wisdom is not the same like salvation that we get freely when we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. There are prices to pay. There are efforts we must do. What God desires from us is time, focused heart and mind on Him in reading His Word and in building a relationship with Him. God makes a promise that if we look for wisdom as for silver, then the Lord, the source of wisdom, will reveal you the hidden understanding and will lead you to victories.

REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, YOUR LEVEL OF THIRST of WISDOM is determining THE WISDOM you will get.

APPLICATION
  1. Have you been looking for wisdom along these times? If you have, why did you do that?
  2. In your opinion, why does God want you to look for wisdom?
  3. What commitment will you make before God to start looking for His wisdom?
TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear, Lord Jesus. Thank you for Your faithfulness. You never let me go. I do realize that I need your wisdom. Please give a heart that is thirsty of your wisdom more than anything else. Let me keep looking for it until I am filled by Your wisdom. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
